SEVRES CHINA PLATE decorated in grisaille at the centre of a portrait by the painter Carrache in a circular medallion, the wing with a green chromium background decorated in gold with garlands of laurel and oak leaf garlands surrounding fleurs-de-lis, palmettes and fleurons on the waterfall. Caption in black on the reverse: annibal Caracci (Carracci) painter born in Bologna 16th century. Marked in blue vignette: LL interlaced, fleurs-de-lis Sèvres. Marked in gold : 11 9bre B.T. 19 and in brown : MC. Restoration period, year 1819. D. 23,5 cm. A restored chip and small gold wears on the fall. This plate is part of an 1819 supplement of the Italian iconographic service or service of famous Italians ordered in 1813 by Napoleon for the Palace of Rome. This service was finally delivered on April 1st 1814 to the Grand Marshal for the Emperor's service at the Tuileries Palace. The service was kept in the Tuileries Palace and used by Louis XVIII and Charles X. In 1819, supplements were delivered for the service of the bouche ru Roi at the Tuileries palace, including 24 portrait plates at 85 francs each, for the service of the bouche ru Roi at the Tuileries palace. The gold bees on the wing of the plates of the 1813 service were then replaced by fleurs-de-lis (arch. Sèvres, Vbb5 f° 102 v).
