Louis XV DUMORTOUS History of the conquests of Louis XV, both in Flanders and on the Rhine, in Germany and in Italy, since 1744, until the peace concluded in 1748. Paris, De Lormel, 1754. In folio: illustrated with a frontispiece (portrait of Louis XV by Boucher engraved by Lempereur), 27 plates out of text of battle scenes and sieges (one of which is double-page) and 14 double-page plans (one of which is the battle of Fontenoy). Small traces of worms in the foot margin without affecting the text on the first few leaves. ½ posterior pastiche chagrin, richly decorated spine, black title and author pieces, red edges. Rare and remarkably illustrated account of part of the War of the Austrian Succession. Magnificent plans of the cities of Menin, Ypres, Fribourg, Tournai, Ghent, Oudenarde, Bruges, Brussels, Antwerp, Mons, Hulst and Maestricht (Cohen, 337)
