17th CENTURY FLEMISH COLLECTION Hagar driven from Abraham's house Canvas. 52.5 x 67 cm. The scene is taken from Genesis (XXI, 9-21). Ishmael was Abraham's first son, born of Hagar, his wife Sarah's Egyptian servant. Sarah asked Abraham to expel the child and his mother.
