CONELIUS LAPIDE Revers Patris Cornelii Cornelii a Lapide e societate Jesu in lovaniensi academia In omnes D. Pauli Epistolas Commentaria Paris, Foüet, 1618. In folio: 5f, 1036pp, 53f (index). Light staining and/or spotting on part of the leaves, paper loss at the corner at the head of the last table leaves (traces of rodents). Contemporary fawn calf, spine ribbed, gilt title rubbed, jaws split, head cap missing, foot cap torn off, small leather chips on boards and edges, rubbing, corners dull, binding quite solid. Cornelius Lapide was a Belgian Jesuit, renowned theologian and biblical scholar, committed to putting into practice the demands of the Council of Trent.
