Pair of 1814-model pistols of the King’s Bodyguards, first type, 200 mm barrel, blued and marked in gold letters “Gardes du Corps du Roi,” stepped muzzle, flintlock lock engraved “Maubeuge Manuf Rle” and stamped with a “B” under a crown (Daniel BOUYSSAVY, inspector in Maubeuge from 1806 to 1816), spade-shaped hammer and round brass bassinet, trigger under a half-Charolais brass trigger guard ending in a fleur-de-lis at the front, all screws with decorative heads, superb stamped walnut stock, double-band brass muzzle cap, pommel bearing the full coat of arms of France, nail-head ramrod, barrels restored to their original color, BE-TBE, a split stock with a new grip, crack in the wood, LT 350 mm, France, Restoration period, category D § e. (387 pieces of the first type were produced in Maubeuge in 1815)
