MOTET (Mauritius) - Lot 368
MOTET (Mauritius) Freshwater fishing. Reunion of 7 Typographic Pictures of illustrations for the Popular Fisherman (circa 1907-1914). Metal alloy plate (13x20 to 14x21 cm) mounted at typographic height on wooden base. On the back is glued the printed result. Nice general condition. Maurice MOTET (1877-1963) is known as a draftsman, illustrator and photographer. Le Pêcheur Populaire (The Popular Fisherman) is at the same time one of the very first fishing magazine as well as a comic book of which the most famous illustrator is Benjamin Rabier.
