How do I sell at auction?Anyone can sell by auction. To sell your goods, you can contact the Auction House directly by telephone on +33 (0)5 56 31 32 33 or by email at
contact@briscadieu-bordeaux.com.
If the items need to be appraised, an appointment can be made at the Auction House or at your home. The auctioneer may be assisted by his experts if necessary.
What is the sale mandate? The item appraised and estimated may be included in one of our forthcoming sales. A sale requisition (or sale mandate) is then drawn up with a precise description of the object, its estæimation and the various conditions of sale. The sale fee is generally 18% inclusive of tax.
How can I transport my goods to the auction room?If you wish, and on the basis of an estimate from our independent transport company, the auction house can take care of transporting the item(s) from your home to the auction room.
Are my items insured until the sale? The furniture and objects that you entrust to us are immediately insured, as the auctioneer benefits from an ‘entrusted objects’ insurance policy.
Do you advertise my items for sale?Of course we do! In addition to sending catalogues to our customer database, which has been built up over many years, our sales are regularly published in detail in the
Gazette Drouot, in the regional, national and foreign press, and on
interencheres.com and
drouot.com websites.
Are my items displayed to the public before the sale?Yes, they are displayed at the pre-sale exhibitions. The auctioneer, the experts and the Auction House staff are on hand to answer any questions the public may have.
When can I collect payment for the sale of my items? For furniture and specialised sales, payment is sent to you by cheque from our bank within four to six weeks of the sale. For vehicle and equipment sales, this period is only three to eight days after the sale. The amount you receive is net of tax and does not have to be declared on your income tax return.
