How to Buy at auction?

How can I find out about forthcoming auctions?
Visit the Upcoming auctions page on our website. You can also subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on Facebook and Instagram. Our sales are also advertised on the Interencheres.com and drouot.com websites, in the Sud-Ouest newspaper, in the Gazette-Drouot and in the moniteur des ventes for vehicle and equipment sales.

How can I view the lots before the sale?
We advise you to come to the pre-sale previews to see the condition of the items for sale.
The auctioneer, the Auction House staff and our experts will be on hand to provide you with any information you may require about the items and the progress of the sale.

What do I do if I can't attend the sale?
You have three options:
- Either leave a written purchase order, accompanied by a photocopy of your ID and a bank details slip, by email to anne@briscadieu-bordeaux.com. The purchase order will be executed free of charge.
- Or ask to be called during the sale, by sending us a photocopy of your ID and your bank details. You can then bid directly by telephone during the sale, in complete discretion.
- Or follow the sale on interencheres.com or drouot.com by registering beforehand on the site.

How does an auction work?
Access to auctions is entirely free of charge. The sale takes place under the authority of the auctioneer, who takes the bids and awards the lots. Once the hammer falls, the buyer becomes the owner of the lot.
When you make your first purchase, you will be given a plaque against a guarantee cheque, which you can settle at the end of the sale. This badge allows you to continue bidding during the sale.

If I ‘win’ an auction, how do I pay?
Payment must be made immediately after the sale. Payment may be made in cash (maximum €1,000), by credit card, bank transfer or cheque, in accordance with current legislation.
In the event of payment by cheque or bank transfer, the delivery of the items may be deferred until they have been cashed. You will be given a buyer's slip, equivalent to an invoice, listing the description of the lots purchased, the price at which they were sold and the amount of the charges.

Are there any additional costs?
Yes, a selling fee of 25% inclusive of tax is added to the price at which the item was sold. For judicial sales, legal fees of 14.28% inclusive of tax are applied.

How do I collect my lot?
Once your invoice has been paid, you have 14 days to collect your lot from Hôtel des Ventes Briscadieu Bordeaux, 12-14 rue Peyronnet, 33800 Bordeaux.
We are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 6pm. The buyer is responsible for insuring his property as soon as the auction has been announced.
If the purchase was made by telephone, by purchase order or live, postal delivery is possible. In this case, the buyer must contact the transport provider indicated, who will take care of the packaging.
