Surrealism BRETON (André) - GRACQ (Julien) Manifesto... - Lot 346 - Briscadieu
Surrealism BRETON (André) - GRACQ (Julien) Manifesto of Surrealism. Soluble fish. Paris, Éditions du Sagittaire, by Simon Kra, 1924. In-12, small fold in the corner at the head, name of former owner on the false title page, uncut copy. Unnumbered copy (only 129 are numbered). Paperback, copy in good condition, fresh cover. First edition (fictitious mention of 7th edition on the cover). This first manifesto of the surrealist movement was initially intended to serve as a preface to the more or less automatic proses of "Poisson soluble". If it should be considered as the authentic act of birth of surrealism, it is not a programmatic speech giving on precise perspectives. One joint: GRACQ (Julien): André Breton. Some aspects of the writer. Paris, lib. Corti, 1948. In-12, 207 pages; with a portrait of André Breton by Hans BELLMER. Unnumbered copy on edition paper. Paperback, both covers detached. First edition.
