In-8: 37f. handwritten - 91pp. the manuscript part is illustrated with a frontispiece photograph, title in red and gold, dedication leaf (to his excellent and old friend Godefroy de Saint-Germain) in gilt ink with color coat of arms, 23 pen drawings including 2 full-page, 7 ornate color headbands, 4 color drawings, music notated in fine, 5 plates out of text, a very fine double-page color map of Lourdes and 2 period photographs. ½ green filleted chagrin with corners, ornate ribbed spine, bumping to one cut, gilt edges. The manuscript includes excursions to Tarbes, Pierrefitte, Soulom, Château-fort de Lourdes, Cauterets, Pont-d'Espagne, Lac de Gaube, Saint-Pé (Hautes-Pyrénées), Château de Pau, etc. Henri de LA CHAPELLE was a member of the Cherbourg Horticultural Society, in which he published several articles.
