[ZOLA (Émile)] Livre d'Hommage des Lettres Françaises à Émile Zola. Paris, Société Libre d'Édition des Gens de Lettres ; Bruxelles, Balat, 1898. Large in-8. One of 200 copies on laid paper of the limited edition justified by the publisher. ½ percaline vert émeraude à la Bradel, red title-piece and central gilt iron on smooth spine. Large margins. In the wake of the Dreyfus affair, a patronage committee comprising Séverine, Octave Mirbeau, Maurice Maeterlinck, Émile Verhaeren, Hector A4060 and some 80 members wrote a tribute book for the writer Émile Zola, author of the letter ''J'accuse'' published in L'Aurore. The book describes the 15 hearings of Émile Zola's trial, as well as Maître Labori's closing arguments.
