In slipcase A close friend of Eduardo ARROYO, he produced this rare album at the request of his publisher Franck Bordas between 1992 and 1995, the years during which he traveled through Spain with his friends Eduardo ARROYO and Carlos ABELLA, going from ganaderia to ganaderia, drawing on the motif and also discovering the bullring and the atmosphere of the Las Ventas toro plaza in Madrid. Gilles Aillaud (1928-2005) was a French painter, set designer, decorator and writer. Trained in philosophy, he turned to painting in the 1950s. He took part in the Figuration Narrative movement, in reaction to the prevailing abstraction. His style is characterized by realistic representation, often cold and distanced. His favorite themes are captive animals, landscapes, prisons and enclosed spaces. He also worked for the theater, creating numerous sets and stage designs. A committed artist, he sees painting as a means of questioning the relationship between man, nature and power. His works are exhibited in major French and international institutions. He is also a poet and essayist, publishing texts alongside his visual work. Gilles Aillaud died in Paris in 2005, leaving a singular body of work, both political and poetic. He is best known for having designed the poster for Roland Garros 1984.
