José Falcón (Povos, Portugal 1942- Barcelona 1974).
Portuguese matador, he made his debut in Portugal on May 20, 1962 at Montijo. He took the alternative in Badajoz on June 23, 1968, with Paco Camino as godfather and "Paquirri" as best man, and confirmed the alternative in Madrid on July 27, 1969, with bulls from the Murteira Grave ganadería.
The son of a banderillero, he made a point of placing all three pairs of banderillas with grace, skill and precision.
On August 11, 1974, in the Barcelona bullring, he was mortally wounded, his femoral artery severed, by the bull "Cucharero" from the ganadería of Don Alipio Perez Tabernero. Evacuated from the bullring, he died that evening.
Gregorio Lalanda (Alameda de la Sagra, Toledo, 1942)
Nephew of matador Marcial Lalanda, he made his debut in 1964, took the alternative in 1969 and confirmed in Madrid in 1970.
From the 1980s onwards, he offered his services as a banderillero, working with maestros Palomo Linares, El Soro, Curro Vázquez, Roberto Dominguez, Luis Francisco Esplá, Miguel Rodriguez and Uceda Leal.
He ended his professional life as director of the Toledo Bullfighting School.
