2 original drawings by Jacques Thévenet GIDE (André) - [THÈVENET (Jacques)] L'immortaliste. Lithographs by Jacques THÈVENET. Paris, Les Cent Une, 1948. In-4, loose-leaf; black lithographs, both in the text and as inserts. Limited edition of 145 copies, one of the 44 numbered in Roman numerals for contributors; signatures of the society’s president and vice president on the numbering page. This copy includes, as loose inserts protected by mount paper and plastic, an original gouache of a view of Meknes (1947) and a dry pastel of a bustling street in Fez (1947). Cover bound in handmade paper, housed in the publisher’s cardboard slipcase; minor wear to the corners of the slipcase. Included: CLÉMENT-JANIN (Noël): *Le Livre d’artiste*. Decorated with an original drypoint portrait of Benjamin Constant and twelve studies intended to illustrate *Adolphe* by Georges JEANNIT, woodcuts in black and color by Jules Germain. In-4, loose-leaf. Edition of 115 numbered copies; one of 5 on Japanese paper, containing 3 states of the drypoint on Japanese paper, a double proof plus a black proof of each color woodcut (missing?), and a black suite of all illustrations on Chinese paper. Pinholes. Paper cover, spine crease broken.
