Pair of pistols from the King’s Bodyguards, Model 1814, first type, 200 mm barrel, blued and marked in gold letters “Gardes du Corps du Roi,” stepped breech, flintlock lock engraved "Maubeuge Manuf Rle" and stamped "B" under a crown (Daniel BOUYSSAVY, inspector in Maubeuge from 1806 to 1816), spade-shaped hammer and round brass guard, trigger under a half-Charolais brass trigger guard ending in a fleur-de-lis at the front, all screws with decorative heads, superb walnut stock with hallmarks, double-band brass muzzle cap, pommel featuring the Great Arms of France, nail-head ramrod, barrels restored to original color, excellent condition, barrel length 350 mm, France, Restoration period, category D § e. (387 pieces of the first type produced in Maubeuge in 1815)
