GAME TABLE IN PINK WOOD violet wood and light... - Lot 127 - Briscadieu
GAME TABLE IN PINK WOOD violet wood and light wood fillets, the tray with four bowls in the corners and fabric top (associated) resting on a scalloped belt and arched legs; marked with a crowned M. Louis XV period. H.: 66 cm, W.: 82 cm, D.: 82 cm Provenance : Most probably the Count of Artois at the Château de Maisons. This mark with a crowned M is slightly different from the mark found on the chest of drawers kept at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles (G. Wilson, Baroque and Régence, catalogue of the J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles, 2008, p. 182), this is probably another iron. Moreover, this table does not bear the usual mark of the Count of Artois, consisting of the interlaced letters A and T.
