PAINTING - SCHAEFFER (Jean-Claude) Rooster... - Lot 321 - Briscadieu
PAINTING - SCHAEFFER (Jean-Claude) Rooster composition and fly fishing attributes. Oil on canvas signed lower right and dated 1984. Size 54,5x65 cm, in a moulded wooden frame. Perfect condition. Special order from Dr Jean-Paul Péquegnot to illustrate the 1984 edition of the "Répertoire des Mouches Artificielles Françaises. "(see this title). This painting presents a rooster ("de pêche") perched on a pile of rocks and landscape with river and various attributes concerning fly fishing: rod, reel, artificial flies, salmon, trout, ephemeral, as well as a fragment of the cover of the book concerned. SCHAEFFER, who lives in Chabris in the Indre, specialises in painting fruit. He pushes the experience further as he cultivates in his orchard more than 1000 trees including 600 varieties of pears, making it the most important orchard in Europe for pears. These various varieties provide him with the subject of his paintings which are very beautiful!
