OCTAGONAL DISH MADE OF LACQUERED WOOD Japan, Meiji period, late 19th century. Decorated in the centre in takamaki-e on a gold background with a lobster, an abalone and a clam, the border decorated with geometric motifs and medallions, the reverse side lacquered in red and black; accident at an angle, cracks and small lacks. Height: 6 cm, 46 x 46 cm.
