Friedrich GOLDSCHEIDER (1845-1897) PUBLISHER Auguste Maurice LEVÊQUE (1864-1921) DESIGNER ATTRIBUTED TO Rudolph THIELE (1856-1930) "Bedouin" also known as "Slave", model #1101, created in [1897] Sculpture. Proof in terracotta with polychrome patina. Circa 1900. A rear corner of the damaged pedestal, some wears and scratches of scattered patina. Bears the publisher's stamp, model number 1101 and numbers 3155 and 16 on the back of the pedestal. Height: 62 cm Please note: There is some uncertainty as to the author of the model since two commercial catalogues of the Goldscheider manufacture, contemporaries of the work, indicate two different artists for it: the Belgian sculptor Auguste Maurice Levêque (1864-1921) or Rudolph Thiele (1856-1930).
