Architecture ALBERT (Léon Baptiste) The Architecture and art of good building of Lord Léon Baptiste Albert, Florentine gentleman. Paris, Kerver, 1553. 10 books in one volume in folio: engraved title with portrait of Alberti in medallion on verso, 228f. (numerous pagination errors), first 10 leaves missing. Illustrated with numerous woodcuts in and out of the text, some of them filled. 17th century speckled fawn basane, spine ribbed, cold roulette on the boards, lack of leather on the edges and corners, red edges. First edition of the French translation. The iconographic cycle is based on the Italian edition of 1550, and on the editions of Vitruvius and Serlio's book III.
