Contemporary green boards, smooth spine decorated, red edges. Antoine-Nicolas Duchesne, French botanist and agronomist. As provost of the Versailles castle, he discovered botany and gardening and became particularly interested in strawberry plants. He assembled an important collection in the botanical garden of the Trianon. The genus Duchesnea, a plant of the Rosaceae family with a strawberry-like habit, was dedicated to him.
