Extraordinum" n° 1 to 4) / 2f, 452pp, 47 plates numbered LXV to CX (of which one additional plate marked "Tab. Extraordinum" n°1) - 6f, XVI, 34pp, 5f, 21 plates numbered I to XXI. A total of 136 plates out of text engraved by Seiller. Some of the leaves slightly browned. Bound in contemporary Italian honey-coloured vellum, spine ribbed, title and gilt, old restorations skilfully executed. This Theatrum Anatomicum gathers all the knowledge of the time in anatomy. The last part contains the anatomical tables of Bartholomew Eustace. Illustrated with 136 anatomical plates, the first two of which represent a man and a woman taken from the famous treatise by André Vésale. Ben complete with the frontispiece portrait of the author by Guillibaud (Brunet III, 1365). Provenance: Printed bookplate of Dr. Maurice Villaret. Maurice Louis Villaret, French neurologist (1877-1946). He is known for his studies and experiments explaining with precision the localization of vascular lesions of the brain.
