(including engraved title and portrait of the author engraved by Niccolò Beatrici), 340pp. illustrated with 46 anatomical plates (VII book 1 - XVI + 4 book 2 - VI book 3 - I book 4 - III book 5 - V book 6 - IV book 7) with deep blacks, engraved by Nicolas de Beatrizet, after drawings attributed to the Spanish Gaspiar Becerra, student of Michelangelo. Modern pastiche Italian vellum with Bradel cover, gilt filleting and gilt irons on spine, blond title page, roulette on boards with fleurons in spandrels, small central fleuron gilt. First Latin edition by Michaele Columbo of the important text by Valverde, one of the greatest Spanish anatomists of the 16th century, who opposed Galen's anatomy and introduced Vesalius' ideas in his native country.
