Empire - Restoration [The Yellow Dwarf] Le Nain Jaune, or Journal of the Arts, Sciences and Literature. Paris, Fain, 1815. - Le Nain Jaune réfugié, by a society of anti-dressers. Brussels, s.n. [Wahlen], 1816. 4 volumes in-8 : volume 1 : Le Nain jaune : 5th year (1814-1815) from n°337 to 359 (lacks n°340, 349, 350, 351 and 354) / volume 2 : 5th year (1815) from n°360 to 377 (lacks n°369, 374, 375, 376, 378 and 379) / Nain jaune réfugié : 3rd and 4th volumes year 1816 (complete). Contains 3 beautiful folding plates in colours (2 for the Yellow Dwarf and one for the Yellow Refugee Dwarf). ½ brown basane, gilt title and fillets on smooth spines. Famous Bonapartist satirical newspaper directed by Cauchois-Lemaire, Etienne, Merle and Jouy. They created the order of the Knights of the Duster, which was succeeded during the Hundred Days by the Order of the Weathervane. Among the most assiduous readers of the "Nain jaune" was King Louis XVIII, who was not averse to collaborating anonymously through the "Bouche de fer". Rare journal covering the period from October 15, 1814 to the end of November 1816 (some gaps).
