EUGÈNE PRINTZ (1879-1948) (ATTRIBUTED TO) AN IMPORTANT DECORATION BY EUGÈNE PRINTZ IN THE 1930S FOR THE VILLA OF MR X. IN CASABLANCA (MOROCCO) Writing table. The double side jambs in mahogany with curved parts each accommodate a patinated brass crossbar. The rectangular top with a chamfered edge has a central Oregon pine veneer. Circa 1935. A restoration on the Oregon pine veneer. H.: 78 cm - L.: 76 cm - W.: 60 cm. Provenance : - From a very important decoration made by Eugene Printz in the 1930s for the villa of Mr. X. in Casablanca (Morocco). Also from this set a console table (or desk), of a model identical to the one kept at the Palais de la Porte Dorée (Maréchal Lyautey's oval salon), sold on May 16, 2017 by Tajan in Paris (lot 108), a lacquer panel by Jean Dunand sold, also by Tajan in Paris, on March 19, 2014 (lot 87) and a cabinet by Jules Leleu sold on February 29, 2020 by Me Briscadieu in Bordeaux (lot 145) - Private collection, France.
