Richard Cosway (1742-1822), oval miniature, gouache on ivory representing the portrait of a lady in lace clothes with a large ribboned cap, signed and dated 1790, label on the back with the inscription "Miss Bover". Dimensions : Brass frame with scrolls, topped with a ribbon bow. In the 1770's Richard Cosway became the most fashionable miniaturist in England, he painted many portraits of the royal family and the English aristocracy.
