Jeanne Bécu (1743-1793), also called Mademoiselle de Vaubernier or Mademoiselle Lange, became by marriage Countess du Barry, then called Madame du Barry, was from 1768 to 1774 the last favorite of the French king Louis XV. She was beheaded at the Place de la Concorde (formerly Place de la Révolution) on December 8, 1793.
