Langres - Haute-Marne - Gaul GAULTHEROT (Denis) The Anastase of Lengres drawn from the tomb of its antiquity. Lengres, Boudrot, 1649. In-4; title vignette and bands with the arms of César Guillaume de LA LUZERNE (1738-1821), last bishop, duke of Langres and peer of France from 1770 to 1790 (1802), cardinal in 1817. Eighteenth century tawny calf, spine ribbed and decorated, red title page, triple gilt fillet framing the boards, rubbing, double fillet on the edges, corners dull, marbled edges. Uncommon work, giving about the history of the city of Langres, precious and well-documented information on the religion of the ancient Gauls and notably on the druids.
