VARIA Reunion of works (23 volumes) : - COLLECTIVE: Lettres normandes ou Petit tableau moral, politique et littéraires, adressées par un normand devenu parisien, à plusieurs de ses compatriotes. Paris, Foulon et Cie, 1818-1820. 10 volumes in 5 volumes in-8. An 11th volume appeared in 1820, with a different address. Contemporary fawn shagreen, ornate smooth spines, black title and endpapers, some small leather tears on the boards, yellow edges. First edition of this collection "written with independence and causticity", which had a great success in Rouen. The main editors were Léon Thiessé, Eug. Balland and Foulon. - LLORENTE (Jean Antoine) - [Spain - INQUISITION]: A critical history of the Spanish Inquisition, from the time of its establishment by Ferdinand V to the reign of Ferdinand VII, drawn from the original documents in the archives of the Council of the Supreme Court, and from the archives of the Subordinate Courts of the Holy Office. Paris, Treuttel and Würtz, 1818. 4 volumes in-8 bound in modern blue factice covers, poor condition. The last volume contains heavy mold, the last leaf (pp. 499-500 ?) is torn off. A trimmed copy under a blue rear cover, original cover boards preserved.
