Monogrammed wet stamp. ½ green contemporary chagrin, gilt title and fillet on smooth spine. First edition published the same year as the introductory work of the "Système Universel". Pursued during the 18 fructidor, AZAIS found refuge in the hospital of Tarbes. It is there that he conceived this "system of compensations" between the good and the evil, manifestation of the "providential justice". Although published late, this philosophical system, approved by Napoleon, will have an influence on his time: 5 editions and a special chapter in the Grand Larousse Universel of the 19th century. - Précis du système universel.
