Atlas BONNE (Rigobert) Atlas of all the parts of the Earth, drawn up for the Philosophical and Political History of the settlements and trade of the Europeans in the two Indies (by Abbé Raynal). Geneva, Pellet, 1780. In-4: 2f., 22pp. ; 50 maps numbered from 1 to 49 (with one 17bis) on double page, 23 tables. ½ calf of the period, spine ribbed and ornamented, red title-piece, guards in vat, corners dulled, red edges. Good general condition. Rigobert Bonne is one of the main cartographers of the end of the 18th century, his work is recognized for its accuracy, especially of the coastal areas. He marked a turning point in European cartography by favoring technical aspects over ornamentation.
