Cartography - Germany CHAUCHARD (C. A.) Map of Germany of the Empire of Germany. Paris, Dezauche, year 9 (1801). In plano: set consisting of the assembly table and 9 large eagle leaves; attached in fine map of a part of the Netherlands to serve as a supplement to the map of the Empire of Germany (one leaf). The whole mounted on tabs. ½ period parchment with corners, blue paper-covered boards with lacks, red speckled edges, lace closure (one missing). Captain Chaucard was a cartographer and military engineer. He participated in the Aldulas map in 1768-69; he drew this map of Germany at the request of the Minister of War, which was first engraved at the end of the 18th century.
