Rare and important gilt bronze and cloisonné enamel gourd China, Qianlong period (1736-1795) The lenticular body, domed with central decoration of a large stylized lotus flower, surrounded by four bats and four blossoming flowers, among foliage scrolls, framed by a frieze of ruyi, the tubular neck repeating the decoration of flowers and ruyi, two handles in the form of ruyi starting from the shoulder to hang on the neck, the sides decorated with flowers and scrolls, the base and the border of the neck gilded; shock in the lower part of the gourd H. 50.5 cm Provenance: Galerie M. Michel Beurdeley, 4, rue de l'Élysée in Paris. Purchased in the 50s/60s and remained in the family since.
