[ATLAS - CARTOGRAPHY] Atlas moderne ou collection de cartes sur toutes les parties du Globe Terrestre par plusieurs auteurs. Paris, Lattré ; Delmalain, 1771. In folio, 73 double-page colored outline maps (including the planisphere). Set numbered 1 to 36, with several maps per part (Missing at least map 3; only the number of plates present has been counted). One map with angular soiling at foot. Set mounted on tabs. ½ period fawn basane spine with ornate nerves, red title-piece, rubbing from use, one jaw split, small accidents to the headpieces, corners and edges dulled, red edges. Map titles in illustrated cartouches. Maps by JANVIER, ZANNONI and BONNE. The maps signed by Janvier are dated 1762. This Atlas was intended as a follow-up to Nicolle de la Croix's Géographie. It went through several editions and was considerably enlarged (up to 75 maps).
