KESSELS (Willy) Photo collage titled "L'Afrique nous Parle" composed of 3 mounted vintage silver prints. On the back, wet stamps of the photographer adjacent to the prints. 1930s (circa 1935). Mounting dimensions: 33.5x21.5 cm. Belgian photographer Willy Kessels is best known as a social documentary photographer. In the 1930s, his studio was located in Saint-Gilles (Brussels). Kessels was sympathetic to Nazi ideas, and after the war was criticized for his collaboration with the occupying forces.
