BELLOC (Émile) From Lannemezan to the Gourgs-Blancs glacier (Hautes-Pyrénées). Paris, Club Alpin Français offices, 1895. Bradel-style red cardboard signed MONTECOT, gilt title on spine. Offprint from the Annuaire du Club Alpin Français (22nd volume, 1893). A talented hydrobiologist and Pyreneanist, his work on Pyrenean lakes rivals that of Abbé Gaurier; unfortunately, his writings are scattered throughout various journals, such as the Annuaire du C.A.F., whose offprints are difficult to collect. Most of his work consists of articles published under the heading "Explorations sous-lacustres". His most important work, entitled "Déformations des Noms de Lieux Pyrénéens", was published in 1907.
