Le livre du roy Modus [la bonne manière] et de la reine Ratio [la raison] was written between 1354 and 1377 by Henri de Ferrières, a Norman gentleman of whom little is known, except that he attended the hunts of King Charles VI at Breteuil, around 1325. The work, first printed in 1486 in Chambéry, enjoyed great popularity in the Middle Ages (Thiébaud 401). Provenances: Ex-libris with cipher to be identified and ex-libris printed from the library of Count G. de La Ferté-Senectère.
