With the arms of the Duke of Gramont [ROYAUMONT BIBLE] L'Histoire du Vieux et du Nouveau Testament, représentée avec des figures & des explications édifiantes, tirées des saints pères, pour régler les moeurs dans toute sorte de conditions. Paris, Villette, 1702. In-4; mid-page vignettes on text leaves (over 240 engravings of biblical scenes). Spotty foxing and soiling, some minor browning and paper restorations. Eighteenth-century fawn calf, slightly rubbed ornate ribbed spine, double cold fillet framing the boards, later central gilt arms of a Duc de Gramont slightly rubbed, gilt roulette on the edges, red edges. The work was attributed to Le Maitre de Sacy, but is actually by Nicolas Fontaine, both Jansenists (Brunet IV, 1433).
