Introduction and comments by Marcel THOMAS, François AVRIL, Duc de BRISSAC. Translation into modern French by Robert and André BOSSUAT. Paris, Club du Livre, Philippe Lebaud, 1976. 2 full-color facsimile books in folio, with gold highlights and numerous miniatures. Printed on strong parchment-like paper. 2 volumes in brown suede: the first in full binding, the second in ½ binding, ribbed spine, printed title, edged slipcases. A fine copy. The finest facsimile of this famous work, reproduced here on parchment paper using Dr. Struzl's process. For once, even the binding is in good taste, which is not the case for the majority of "luxury" books produced since the 1960s.
