[ÉCOLE de SORÈZE] Public exercises for the students of the Royal Military School of Sorèze, run by the Benedictine monks of the Saint-Maur congregation. They will begin on September 9, 1782, and continue for the next two days. Carcassonne, Hérisson, 1786. In-4: 120pp. 4pp. Contemporary red morocco, smooth ornate spine, triple fillet framing the covers, gilt roulette on the edges, minor wear, gilt edges. Extremely rare annual publication used as a program for prize-giving exercises. The Royal Military School of Sorèze (Tarn) was one of twelve military schools opened in the provinces in 1776 to train officers. The Sorèze establishment was one of the most renowned.
