Posthumous and rare first edition of this Histoire du Gâtinais, a veritable reference work on the subject, providing invaluable information on the region in the 17th century. It is in this work that we find the definition of the Gâtinais most commonly accepted today. It is divided into six books: "Du païs de Gastinois & Hurepois en general", "De la Ville & Duché de Nemours, ses antiquitez, singularitez & autres choses remarquables touchant ceste Ville", "De la ville de Melun", "De la ville de Sens", "De la Ville et banlieue de Ferrières-en- Gastinois", and "De l'abbaye royale de Sainct Pierre & de sainct Paul de Ferrières-en-Gastinois".
