Charles Barry. Bordeaux, Lefebvre, 1876. In-8: 2f, LXVIII, 2f, IV, 1f, 234pp, 2f; one folding table hors texte. Edition of 300 copies, one of 70 on Whatmanvergé fort ½ period green morocco, spine ribbed and decorated, gilt head. A fine copy. A very rare work dealing with one of the most troubled periods in the history of Bordeaux and its region, recounting the events and facts of war in Guyenne in the years 1651-1653. The original, which is undated but contemporary with the events, was reprinted in Cologne by Egmont in 1674 on an incomplete copy, resulting in a corrupt version full of errors (Labadie 829).
