Anne-Louise-Marie de Cherisey (1868-1914), Countess O'GORMAN by marriage in 1890 to Marie Joseph Ferdinand Gaétan comte O'Gorman (1861-1939). She died of an illness contracted while nursing wounded soldiers at her château de Pixerécourt near Nancy. Her husband, Gaétan Marie Joseph Ferdinand, Comte O'Gorman, a French landowner, was known for his many properties in Lorraine, including the Villa O'Gorman in Pau.
The O'Gorman (or Mac Gorman) family, whose earliest records date back to the 12th century, belonged to the ancient nobility of Ireland. It originated in France around 1688-1691 with Arnold O'Gorman de Kilmurry, who followed James II. The eldest branch bears the title of Earl.
