A rare work, here complete with all lithographs of maps, views, costumes and local scenes in fine condition. "Landes" is used in the geographical sense, not the administrative one; it therefore includes not only the Landes department, but also part of the Lot et Garonne and Gironde departments. Abbé Dorgan was born in Saint Bazeille in 1811. His ecclesiastical career was eventful, and he had his run-ins with the religious authorities. He taught in Casteljaloux, where he died in 1846.
