Tokio, Tsoukidji-Tokio printing house, Magata, 1894. 2 volumes in-4; illustrated with 28 superb double-page color-engraved compositions by five Japanese painters: Kyosui Kawanabe, daughter of the famous painter Kyosai Kawanabe - Tomonobu Kano, last great master of the Kano family - Shûsui Okakura - Sadahiko Eda and Hanko Kajita. ½ red contemporary filleted chagrin, ornate ribbed spine, gilt heads. A famous and curious edition printed in Tokyo for Flammarion and published by Pierre Barboutau.
