ENTOURAGE DE Jean-Baptiste ISABEY Portraits of Aglaé Antoinette d'Aumont and Louise-Constance d'Aumont, circa 1804 Black pencil, shading and white chalk highlights on half-tone paper. 68 x 56 cm (paper strip added at bottom). Drawing mounted on canvas. (Insolate, small stains). Old annotation on verso: "Aglaé and Constance d'Aumont reading a letter in front of a bust of their father, the Duc d'Aumont, in emigration". The union of Louis-Alexandre-Céleste d'Aumont, 7th Duke of Aumont, Duke of Villequier (Peer of France, Lieutenant-General of the King's armies, Governor of Boulonnais, deputy to the Estates-General of 1789) with his second wife, Antoinette Marguerite Henriette de Mazade de Saint Brisson, produced two daughters who married two brothers: - Louise Antoinette Aglaé d'Aumont (Paris 1773-1847) was married on June 25, 1805 to Alexandre de Sainte-Aldegonde, a former émigré who was appointed Pair de France on November 5, 1827. - Jeanne Louise Constance d'Aumont (Paris 1775 -1852) was married on June 25, 1805 (the same day as her sister) to Charles Séraphin Joseph de Sainte Aldegonde, maréchal de camp, deputy for Aisne from 1815 to 1819.
