DAUM NANCY
"Les Champignons - Coprins striés, Amanites panthères et tue-mouches, russules et hygrocybes parroquet" circa 1907
Vase evoking a tree trunk with four sides separated by slight veins.
Proof in multi-layered glass commonly known as "soufflé-moulé";
The rotating title decoration, broken down into four distinct tableaux, is finely acid-etched, engraved and cold-chased with a wheel, and executed with vitrified powders and polychrome enamels on a dense ochre-yellow marbled granite ground, shaded with brown and rust in places.
The decoration is enriched with acid-etched, polychrome-enameled pine cones at the top and acid-etched, dark-brown herbaceous plants in high relief at the base.
Art Nouveau period.
Signed DAUM Nancy with the Cross of Lorraine, engraved under the base.
Height: 26 cm.
