DAUM NANCY - Lot 266
DAUM NANCY "Les Champignons - Coprins striés, Amanites panthères et tue-mouches, russules et hygrocybes parroquet" circa 1907 Vase evoking a tree trunk with four sides separated by slight veins. Proof in multi-layered glass commonly known as "soufflé-moulé"; The rotating title decoration, broken down into four distinct tableaux, is finely acid-etched, engraved and cold-chased with a wheel, and executed with vitrified powders and polychrome enamels on a dense ochre-yellow marbled granite ground, shaded with brown and rust in places. The decoration is enriched with acid-etched, polychrome-enameled pine cones at the top and acid-etched, dark-brown herbaceous plants in high relief at the base. Art Nouveau period. Signed DAUM Nancy with the Cross of Lorraine, engraved under the base. Height: 26 cm.
