PERRET (Paul) - Lot 479
PERRET (Paul) The French Pyrenees - Illustrations by E. SADOUX. Part 1: Lourdes, Argelès, Cauterets, Luz, St Sauveur, Barèges. Part 2: Le Pays-Basque et la Basse-Navarre. Part 3: L'Adour, la Garonne et le Pays de Foix. Paris, Oudin, 1881-1884. 3 volumes, large in-8: 2f, 356pp, 2f / 2f, 496pp / 2f, 464 pp; numerous illustrations in text, including 17 full-page and 14 plates out of text for the first; 19 full-page, 13 plates out of text and a folding etched panorama for the second; 22 full-page and 12 plates out of text for the last. Scattered foxing in all 3 volumes. Publisher's red percaline boards, black and gold composition on spine, polychrome thematic decoration in a black and gold frame on upper boards (Souze plate), gilt edges. Similar to the undated work published under the name Lecène et Oudin. A few differences suggest that the latter is a slightly later version. Only the title has changed, with no mention of "partie". Rare complete with black and gold thematically decorated boards (Labarère 1159 to 1161).
